Turbulence Cancelled. Finally.

Instead of the constant bumps, drops, passenger tension and physical fatigue normally associated with turbulent air, the Turbulence Cancelling System delivers a smoother, calmer and more controlled flying experience. The result is greater comfort, increased confidence in demanding conditions, and a more refined feeling in the air for both pilot and passenger.

No more fears of flying for your passengers and loved ones.

Shark is the first and only light aircraft equipped with the patented Turbulence Cancelling System.

How does it work?

The Turbulence Cancelling System is an active system designed to reduce the effects of turbulence, especially unpleasant vertical acceleration.

  1. A turbulence sensor measures airflow disturbances before they reach the wing.
  2. The Flaplet Control Unit (FCU) calculates in real time the aerodynamic forces needed to counteract the expected aircraft movement.
  3. The FCU then moves the Turbulence Flaplets - small control surfaces integrated into the main flaps - to generate precisely timed counteracting aerodynamic forces.

The principle is similar to active noise cancelling, where unwanted noise is reduced by generating an opposing noise signal.

Questions and Answers

  • Does it work?

    ...Yes

Thanks to its aerodynamic design, the Shark is already highly resistant to turbulence. TCS takes this to an even higher level. The Turbulence Cancelling System has been rigorously tested under a variety of turbulent conditions. It continuously stabilises the aircraft during flight, actively reducing 70-80% of unwanted vertical motion.

  • Is the technology certified?

    ...Yes

After several years of intensive research, development, and testing, the system has successfully completed certification with the Austrian Civil Aviation Authority (Austro Control).

  • Does the TCS make flying more comfortable?

    ...Yes

TCS reduces the noticeable effects of turbulence by approximately 70–80%, creating a significantly smoother, calmer and more enjoyable flying experience for both pilot and passengers.

In turbulent air, a Shark equipped with TCS no longer feels like a very light sport aircraft. Instead, it delivers the composed and confident flying characteristics of a much heavier aircraft. Analysis has shown that a Shark with TCS engaged exhibits flight characteristics comparable to those of aircraft weighing approximately 3,000 to 5,000 kg.

For passengers, this means a calmer cabin environment, less discomfort and significantly greater confidence throughout the flight. For the pilot, it provides a more stable flying experience with fewer control corrections and reduced workload. The result is a more controlled, harmonious and comfortable flight.

  • Is this system like the 787 system?

    ...No, fundamentally different.

Our Turbulence Cancelling System (TCS) is based on an entirely new technological approach. While it shares the same overall objective as some existing systems (reducing the effects of turbulence on both the aircraft and its occupants), it differs fundamentally in its operating principle, system architecture and method of operation.

One key difference is that TCS is an active system. Rather than merely damping turbulence passively or partially compensating for it through conventional flight-control logic, TCS actively detects turbulence, evaluates its characteristics and actively counteracts its effects through targeted system responses.

The system used on the Boeing 787 follows a different technological approach. The only common objective is to reduce the impact of turbulence and improve passenger comfort. The patented TCS is not an evolution or copy of any existing system, but an independent technology based on a completely new concept.

  • Can I have the TCS on my shark as an upgrade?

    ...Yes

We can install the system for you at any time. Please contact us for more information

  • Can I have this system installed on my **** (any other GA/LSA model)?

    ...No, not at this time.

At present, the Shark is the only GA/LSA aircraft that can be equipped with the Turbulence Cancelling System (TCS).

TCS is not a universal retrofit product. It is an active system that is specifically integrated into the aircraft for which it is designed. Any installation in another aircraft type would require its own dedicated engineering development, system integration, flight testing and aviation authority certification.

This means that, although the fundamental concept of TCS could in principle be adapted to other aircraft types, the system cannot be installed or operated in another GA/LSA model without type-specific approval.

As of July 2026, the Shark remains the only aircraft approved for installation of the Turbulence Cancelling System (TCS).

  • Can I try it out?

    ...Yes
